Our Pastor
Our new pastor, Rev. Richard “Rick” Martin Tysinger,  comes to us with many years of service to the Lord.  He began his ministry in 1985, serving Piney Grove-Hickory Grove United Methodist Churches and most recently comes from Wesley Memorial Untied Methodist Church in Raleigh.  It was during his appointment to Merritt’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill, from 1992-2004 he witnessed substantial church growth.  This church grew from 9 persons in attendance to well over 100 persons in attendance.  It grew from a part-time pastoral supply to full-time pastoral service.

Rev. Rick and his wife Stephanie were married on June 6, 1981.  They have two daughters, Avalon and Arianna, who are attending high school in Raleigh.

Rev. Rick says he loves to read and learn new things.  He loves being around people, sharing the joy of life and living life to the fullest.

Beginning in June, in addition to role as pastor to Bethlehem and Cumnock, Rev. Rick will serve as Executive Director of Christians United Outreach Center of Lee County.  The CUOC is a non-profit organization and serves as Lee County’s faith-based, community-supported, financial-crisis intervention center.

Rick and his family are residents of Sanford and they are looking forward to serving the Lord in a new setting.
